First of all, thx to the folks who admin & maintain this site.
I now have 20 scores posted on iGolf so my Handicap Index should be accurate. However it seems to be off substantially. I also keep my handicap at my club (CCA facility). My Average Strokes Per Round shows 85.9. My iGolf Handicap Index shows 6.3 which can't be right. My club handicap system has me at 11.6 which seems to be correct. Suggestions?
I'd love to tell folks I'm a 6 handicap but I'd sure lose a lot of money if I did!
handi-cap
i decided this site sukcs
the handi-cap is not realistic. it is way too low!
Your handicap does not
Your handicap does not reflect your average score (i.e. I shoot 85 all the time 85-72 = 13) A proper handicap, as defined by the USGA, reflects your potential scoring (i.e. on your best day what you have the potential of shooting). I heard somewhere that you should only shoot to your handicap some 25% of the time and actually shoot higher the other times. Remember it is all based on your potential to score. Of course there is also course slope and ratings that also influence your scores. If you always shoot 85 on a cake course vs shooting 85 on a tour caliber course your handicap would be different.
Handicap
You are right it isn't his score, but if an actual USGA hadicap system is almost double what this site says, I would say there is an issue with the site.
